Privacy policy

Who I am

Ready Steady Marketing is run by me, Isiah Cooper-Marriott, a sole trader based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. I decide how your personal information is used, which makes me responsible for looking after it (the legal term is "data controller").

What I collect

Your answers to the questions. Your type of business, what a typical job is worth to you, how much you could spend on advertising each month, how soon you could take on more work, whether you have a website and who decides on marketing spend.

Your contact details. Your name, email address and phone number, plus anything you write in the comments box.

How you found the page. If you came from one of my ads or a tracked link, the page records which one, along with the date and time you sent your answers.

Your booking. If you book a call, the time you pick and anything you add in the booking form.

Emails and calls. Anything you send me by email or tell me on a call.

Tracking, only if you accept cookies. The Meta Pixel records that you visited the page and whether you started the questions, finished them or booked a call. If you send your contact details, a scrambled version of your name, email and phone number is also shared with Meta. This lets Meta match your visit to your Facebook or Instagram account so I can see which ads work. The details are scrambled in your browser before they're sent, so Meta can only use them to match against people it already knows, not read them.

How I use it, and why I'm allowed to

To reply to your enquiry and book your call. You've asked me to get in touch about working together, so I use your details to do that before any agreement is in place.

To see which of my ads work. This includes sharing the tracking details and scrambled contact details described above with Meta. It only happens if you accept cookies, and you can change your mind at any time.

To keep business records if you become a client. The law requires me to keep some records, such as invoices, for tax.

To send you emails. After you book, you may get automatic emails about your call, such as a confirmation or reminder. If I send emails with tips or updates, you'll only get them if you've agreed to, and every one will have an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

Cookies

Your cookie choice. Your browser remembers whether you accepted or said no, so the banner doesn't keep appearing. This is needed for the page to work properly.

Meta Pixel. This only loads after you press "Accept". You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the main page.

Fonts and booking calendar. The page loads its font from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address with them. The booking calendar may also use its own cookies so it can work.

Who I share it with

Only the services I use to run the business: my email provider (Zoho Mail), the company that hosts this website, my booking calendar, the tool that stores enquiries, any tool I use to send emails, and Meta if you accept cookies. They only use your information to provide their service to me.

I never sell your details. I'd only share them with anyone else if the law required me to.

Where it's stored

Some of these services store information outside the UK, including in the United States. When that happens, protections recognised under UK law are in place, such as the UK-US data bridge or contracts approved by the Information Commissioner's Office.

How long I keep it

If we don't end up working together, I delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you become a client, I keep your details while we work together and then for 6 years afterwards, because that's how long HMRC asks businesses to keep tax records. Meta keeps pixel data in line with its own privacy policy.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you a copy of what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, stop using it, or send it to you or someone else in a format you can reuse. If you accepted cookies, you can take that back at any time.

If you're not happy

Please talk to me first and I'll do my best to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

If you become a client

Your ads run in your own ad account, and I never handle your payment details. Before we start, I'll explain in our agreement how I look after any information that comes in from your ads.

This website isn't meant for anyone under 18. If I change this policy, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
